Why do you speak to them in parables? Jesus didn’t invent the parable. Rabbis spoke in parables long before Jesus.
A disciple came to a rabbi and said, “Rabbi, why is it that whenever I come to you with a question, you respond with a question?”
The rabbi replied, “Why shouldn’t I?”
