*Meditation Exercise–Palms Down, Palms Up

(Explain first, then do it)

Palms Down

Posture: Sit straight, both feet on floor, eyes closed.

Relax your jaw, brow, stomach muscles

Breathe in deeply-with your stomach-hold it, breathe out slowly

Ask the Lord to empty your mind of any concerns, worries, fears, animosity, hate

any negative thoughts that come into your mind–let them roll off your fingertips.

Trust them with God.

Empty your mind

“Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.”

1 Peter 5:7

Palms Up

Receive God’s unconditional love. Let it wash over you like warm water. In your own way, pray for the Lord to fill you with his Holy Spirit. As the Scripture says…

Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit.

Ephesians 5:18

How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are!

1 John 3:1

For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Rom. 8:38-39
