Obstacles

Obstacles are those frightening things you see when you take your eyes off your goal.

– Henry Ford

J. Sidlow Baxter wrote, “What is the difference between an obstacle and an opportunity? Our attitude toward it. Every opportunity has a difficulty and every difficulty has an opportunity.”

Just think about what was accomplished when these people were imprisoned:

  • Robinson Crusoe was written while Daniel Defoe was in prison.
  • John Bunyan wrote his bestselling book, The Pilgrim’s Progress, in the Bedford Jail.
  • Martin Luther translated the Bible (NT) while confined in the castle of Wartburg
  • Nelson Mandela, during his twenty-seven years in prison, started work secretly on his autobiography, Long Walk to Freedom. He went on to become president of South Africa.

In other words, our problem is NOT our problem. Our problem is our ATTITUDE about our problem!
