A girl was coming home for Easter break from college and wrote,
Dear Mom and Dad,
I’m coming home for the holiday, but before I do, I just want to catch you up
with things. The fire in the apartment
last week, didn’t do as much damage as it could have. I’m recovering fine from
hitting my head jumping out the back door. In fact, the cute paramedic was so
concerned he let me stay at his place. I really think we’re going to have a
simple wedding so don’t worry about expenses. I can’t wait to name the baby after
one of you.
In closing, don’t worry. There’s no fire, no accident. There’s no paramedic, I’m not getting married, you’re not going to be grandparents. But, I am getting a D in History and I want you to keep life in perspective.
